HESPERIA – The man who died as a result of a traffic collision on Highway 395 between Main Street and Three Flags Court on Sunday night has been identified by Sheriff’s officials.
David Dubon, a 41-year-old Adelanto man was driving a Honda Accord northbound on US Highway 395 just before 9:40 p.m., when a southbound traveling silver Chevrolet Cruze drifted into his lane causing a head-on collision. Both vehicles sustained major damage and came to a rest in the roadway. Dubon sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by County Fire personnel and was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Highway 395 between Poplar and Main Streets remained closed for approximately 12 hours so that San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) investigation could be completed. Witnesses reported that a third vehicle, a white import, possibly a Honda or Toyota was also gone upon arrival.
