VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Authorities are attempting to identify a suspect who robbed a Victorville man who met with him under the ruse that he would be purchasing a phone from the suspect.
The 19-year-old male victim met with the suspect on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at around 8:09 p.m. on Seneca Road near Rodeo Drive. The two made contact on the app., OfferUp authorities said. When he met with the suspect who he described as a heavyset black man, the suspect brandished a handgun. He demanded money from the victim, who complied.
The suspect them fled the scene. The victim was not injured as a result of the robbery. Deputies from the Victorville station responded to the area and conducted an area check but were unable to locate the suspect.
