VICTORVILLE, Ca. – The man who was shot and left for dead in a vehicle in the 16500 block of Stoddard Wells Road on Monday has been identified.
Authorities said that the motive is unclear and remains under investigation at this point. Victorville Police responded to a report of a deceased person in a vehicle on Stoddard Wells Road on Monday, January 13, 2020, at around 3:26 a.m. When they arrived they located Edward Obregon, 53, of Oro Grande, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Four people who were believed to be involved in the homicide were detained at and near JJ Auto Repair, located at 16941 Stoddard Wells Road. Only one of those detained has been identified as 71-year-old Jaime Jimenez Sr. who was questioned and subsequently released on Wednesday night. Inmate records show that Jimenez was detained for murder but records show it as “detention only”. It is unclear if Jimenez has been cleared of the killing or if there is insufficient evidence to file criminal charges at this time.
