PHELAN – A young Simi Valley man was killed after being hit by a truck on Saturday morning in Phelan. At around 4:30 a.m. the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and emergency medical personnel responded to Palmdale Road east of Bambi Court for a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
CHP officials said that after 21-year-old Saul Sanchez’ vehicle left the roadway and became stuck on a raised dirt berm, Sanchez got out of his vehicle. While in the westbound lane of Palmdale Road, a 2017 Ford F-150 quad cab truck, also traveling westbound struck Sanchez. Paramedics responded to the scene and determined that Sanchez died as a result of his injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
