RIVERSIDE – A 20-year-old man sustained major injuries after crashing into a center divider guardrail on Monday. At around midnight personnel from the Riverside Police and Fire Department responded to the single-vehicle traffic collision near a three-way intersection of Streeter, Grand, and Mountain Avenues.
When they arrived, the male driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle was found trapped inside of his vehicle. The man was extricated by firefighters and was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
According to the evidence collected, the driver was driving of a 2006 Nissan Sentra at a high rate of speed and went out of control at the curve in the roadway causing the vehicle to crash into the metal guard rail on Grand Avenue. The investigation is ongoing if anyone has any information they are asked to contact Detective Felix Soria at (951)826-8720.
