BAKERSFIELD, CA. – Bakersfield Police are actively searching for a man who allegedly beat an 8-year-old girl to death.
On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, officers responded to an apartment home in the 2700 block of San Dimas Street after receiving the report of the small child not breathing. When they arrived they found the girl with obvious signs of trauma and rushed her to a local hospital. Despite lifesaving measures, the girl died as a result of her injuries.
Clint Mason, 38, of Bakersfield is wanted for murder as a result of her death. There is a warrant for Mr. Mason’s arrest. He is described as a Black man, who is 6’2” tall, and 235 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Mason walks with a limp due to a pre-existing injury. He was last seen on foot in the area of the homicide and he does not have access to a vehicle.
He has family in the Los Angeles area and may be attempting to return there. It is unclear how Mason knew the child at this time.
