KINGMAN, Az. – A man and woman were arrested after receiving the report of a possible unreported homicide.
On Friday, July 12, 2019, the reporting party told dispatchers that the homicide occurred in April 2019, at the home in the 4500 block of Glen Road in Kingman. As a result of the report, Mohave County Sheriff’s office SWAT began conducting surveillance on the home, along with Detectives. Following the surveillance authorities responded to the home with a search warrant.
During the search authorities located a 55-gallon drum buried in a shallow grave in the home’s backyard. Inside the drum were the remains of a woman. Mark Anthony Baldonado, 31, and Carrie Vanover, 23, both of Kingman were arrested and charged with first degree murder. Both Vanover and Baldonado confessed to the killing of the woman who they said was Shawn Maureen Vanover, Carrie Vanover’s mother.
An autopsy will be conducted to verify the identity of the woman and to determine her manner of death.
