MURRIETA, Calif. – A schizophrenic man was arrested for the murder of both of his parents on Friday night.
The discovery was made after a well check was requested on the residents of a home in the 2400 block of Jonquil Circle at around 9:40 p.m. The called stated that they were out of town and were unable to reach their family members. Officers responded to the home but no one answered the front door. Through investigation it was determined that two people were inside the home deceased.
Officers made contact with 25-year-old Andrew Burke who was arrested for suspicion of murder. Neighbors said that cops have been called there several times in the last few months. They also said that he would walk his dog in the neighborhood and they could tell that he had some sort of mental condition.
Burke was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for Murder and Resisting a Peace Officer. The investigation is ongoing but appears to be domestic related and contained to the residence.
