LAKE ARROWHEAD – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dive Team, with the assistance of the San Bernardino County Fire Department located the body of the Fire Department Chief’s missing son on Sunday.
Dawson Hartwig, 20 went missing after going for a walk alone without any of his belongings on Friday evening. He left the cabin that he and his friends rented near Lake Arrowhead Village 5:00 p.m. and did not return. His friends reported him missing on Saturday morning at approximately 10:44 a.m.
His family was immediately notified by Sheriff’s officials and an extensive search was quickly planned and executed. The Sheriff’s Dive Team with the help of the San Bernardino County Fire Department checked the area of the lake near the Yacht Club dock. Hartwig was pulled from the water in approximately 30 feet of water at 1:10 a.m. The Coroner at the scene identified as Dawson Hartwig.
