TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. – A man reported missing from Twentynine Palms on Wednesday afternoon was located deceased later the same day.
On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at around 12:55 p.m. Morongo Basin deputies responded to a home in the 72000 block of Sullivan Road in response to the report of a missing 23-year-old man. The missing man was reportedly suicidal and was possibly armed with a handgun, near Mission Avenue and Mission Avenue, in Twentynine Palms.
At approximately 5:15 p.m., the missing man was located deceased in a mountainous area, south of Mission Avenue and Foothill Drive with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The body of the missing man was extrication from the location. A death investigation is being conducted. The name of the deceased man is not being released at this time.
