VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A missing Victorville man was found deceased after several ominous Facebook posts and text messages.
Royal’s wife, Julie Mattice said in a Facebook post that Royal, who suffered with Bipolar Disorder, was having more significant depression issues since December. On Sunday, January 24, 2021, he was upset and walked away from his home as he made suicidal statements. Julie called the police, who put out a missing person’s flyer on the morning of Monday, January 25, 2021.
Friends and family of Mattice searched for him as well as the community, who kept an eye out for him in hopes of getting him to return home safely. On the evening of Monday, January 25, 2021, Royal was found deceased.
Julie Mattice posted a heartbreaking post to Facebook:
Well today My ONE AND Only succumbed to that mental illness. I wish more than anything that I didn’t have to write this post. Royal was my everything, my happiness, [and] my not so happiness. We had many rough times and many, many great times. He was literally my crazy love. I am just processing the news and I’m not ignoring anyone and I will update you as I can. Please keep us in your thoughts.
I will love you forever and always till my last breath and I will never fall in love again. You were the only one meant for me, and I’m sorry baby I’m so sorry for heated words, and petty arguments I take it all back just come back please I need you, I love you, I want you back . Please tell me he will go to heaven. I need him to, to see him again. I wish he knew when he died, I would die too.
