Mojave Drive at US-395 in Adelanto Reopens After 4-month Closure

ADELANTO, Calif. – The closure of Mojave Drive at US-395 that caused a delay for Adelanto residents for four months is now complete.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 2, 2019, Adelanto residents that use Mojave Drive were pleasantly surprised to see that Mojave Drive, which is one of the main routes into Victorville if going eastbound or back home to Adelanto if going westbound was reopened. The closure that was necessary to use a concrete cap to protect the pipeline of two jet fuel lines underneath highway 395 to allow for the widening of US-395 and Mojave Drive south to Victor Street to continue.

The closure was expected to last five months, according to a news release in October, but was reopened a full month early. This was great news for those who usually used that route and had to detour, using additional time, fuel, and patience. The reopening and completion of the project will allow for the ground breaking of the 12.5-acre retail shopping center on the west side of US-395 from Mojave to Seneca, which will include a car wash, gas station, multi-tenant retail stores, and fast food restaurants. The project is expected to lead to additional jobs and tax revenue for the City of Adelanto.

The projected completion date for the center is expected to be early 2020.
