SAN JACINTO, Calif. – A motorcyclist died at the scene following a collision with a 4-door sedan.
The collision occurred in the 1800 block of South San Jacinto Avenue, near a Walmart shopping center in the City of San Jacinto. At around 5:20 p.m. deputies, fire personnel and AMR responded to the scene to find the mangled Toyota and a motorcycle that was in several pieces. The motorcycle rider was located over 150 feet from the crash site. Emergency medical personnel rushed over to the motorcyclist, but he was determined to be deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital with the complaint of pain. Preliminary investigation revealed that the Toyota was entering the Walmart parking lot from southbound San Jacinto Avenue. The rider was riding northbound and was unable to stop on time and collided into the side of the Toyota. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. All lanes of San Jacinto Road are closed at the scene of the collision for the investigation. The name of the deceased motorcyclist will be released by the Riverside County Coroner.
