APPLE VALLEY, Ca. – An armed and dangerous Hesperia man, who is wanted for murder and armed robbery remains at large.
Friends of victim, Brandi Jones, 35, of Hesperia, who was allegedly murdered by Williamson have requested that an updated photo to be released to assist in their search for Williamson’s arrest and justice for Brandi.
On Friday, August 30, 2019, Phillip Michael Williamson, 37 of Hesperia, according to authorities, murdered Jones, placed her in his vehicle, then robbed and threatened an elderly man in Apple Valley. Apple Valley Station deputies responded to the 20000 block of Wisconsin Street after receiving a 911 call from a 76-year-old man who said he was robbed.
The elderly man said that Williamson went to his home and demanded money and a handgun. He also told the victim to look inside his white Hyundai, where he had a “deceased female”. The victim looked from a distance and saw what he believed was a partially exposed female body inside the vehicle. Williamson fled in the vehicle. Due to the suspicious circumstances, deputies immediately started a search for Williamson starting at his home in the 19100 block of Yucca Street in the City of Hesperia. Inside his home there was evidence of a struggle, authorities said.
Authorities broadcasted the suspect’s description and his vehicle description and at around 10:45 p.m. his vehicle was found near Wisconsin Street in the Town of Apple Valley. Inside, deputies found the body of Brandi Jones.
Williamson was arrested and convicted for kidnapping his children from their mother, who was at Timberlane park with them in August 2017. Timberlane was armed with a gun and fled with the children and barricaded himself and his children inside the home in the 19100 block of Yucca Street. He failed to comply with the deputies commands and later exited the home when the SWAT team began negotiating with him. He exited the home at around 5:00 p.m. and was arrested without incident. No one was injured as a result of the August 2017 incident.
He accepted a plea deal on September 27, 2017, for Assault by Means of Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury, a felony. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison and received credit for a total of 73 days of time served and conduct credit. The court ordered that 50% of the remainder of his sentence be served, leaving him with around 9 ½ months in prison.
A close friend, Richie Munoz, shared a video of Brandi Jones singing. “This woman was truly my best friend as I was her,” Munoz said in a Facebook post. “We have been through so much together. For this to happen to her, just makes everything far much worse.”
A family member of Brandi’s started a Go Fund Me account last week to assist the grieving family with her memorial, burial, or any other needs that they may have as a result of her death. Brandi leaves behind her 14-year-old daughter, her mother, her father, two brothers, and many other close friends and family members.
