MURRIETA – Some people drive by and act as if they did not see someone in need. Others, including officers, show empathy by stopping and assisting someone in need of assistance.
Last week a Murrieta Police officer was captured by a citizen by the name of Heather, who was the passenger in a nearby vehicle, as he assisted a woman in need of a little help. Heather said that Officer Drootin immediately stopped his vehicle to help a woman struggling to get her walker on the sidewalk.
Heather said that he not only ran to her aid and assisted her but he walked and talked with her for a while after. “I love this community so much but it’s moments like this seeing how compassionate our police department is,” said Heather.
