MERRIMACK, NH. – New Hampshire woman was arrested for drowning her elderly dog in Naticook Lake authorities said.
On Saturday, June 8, 2019, at around 7:30 p.m. police responded to a call reporting that Nancy Bucciarelli, 66, of Merrimack, pushed her senior golden retriever off of a dock and into the lake into water that was approximately 3 ½ feet deep. Witnesses told police that the 11-year-old dog appeared to be weak before being pushed into the lake. He struggled to swim while Bucciarelli watched without attempting to save the dog. Witnesses attempted to pull the dog to the surface but were unable to help the already dead dog.
Police obtained an arrest warrant and Bucciarelli turned herself in on Friday, June 14, 2019. According to court records, Bucciarelli was released and will appear in court on June 27th.
