NEWBERRY SPRINGS – A 911 call reporting a Newberry Springs shooting on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, led to three arrests officials said.
At around 7:57 a.m. a 46-year-old woman reported that she had been shot in the 34100 block of Piute Road. When they arrived they noticed that the female victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to her arm, which she said was caused by Crystal Jimenez, 39, of Newberry Springs. Kenneth Smalley, 43, a resident, who was home at the time of the search was arrested for Willful Cruelty to a Child.
The following day Jimenez was located at a home in the 32900 block of Dune Road. A second search warrant was obtained and served. “ Suspected methamphetamine and other items commonly associated with the sales of narcotics, including syringes and scales, were located on the property,” Barstow Sheriff’s Station officials said.
