ADELANTO – During a one day operation, which included checking on registered sex offenders in the City of Adelanto and unincorporated areas in the Victor Valley thirteen arrests were made.
The operation called, “Operation Desert Watch” was conducted by Victor Valley station, County Probation Officers, and State Parole Agents on Friday, September 14, 2017, between noon and 10pm. The operation focused on ensuring that registered sex offenders were in compliance with their State mandated registration requirements. During the operation, roughly 320 contacts were made at various locations.
Most of the offenders were found to be in compliance, while thirteen were arrested for outstanding warrants, probation violations and parole violations. This operation is an example of the ongoing effort by the Sheriff’s Department to protect the communities it serves.
