BAKER – One person was killed and one injured after a vehicle overturned on the I-15 North near the

Cima Road off-ramp Monday evening.
Just before 6:50 p.m. the Barstow California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department medics was dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic collision. The driver of the white Toyota SUV was killed after the vehicle rolled over several times landing in northbound lanes according to scanner traffic.
The Toyota ultimately landed on its wheels with the occupants trapped inside requiring extrication. All northbound lanes were blocked by the mangled Toyota SUV. The drive of the vehicle was determined to be dead on arrival and an air ambulance was requested but later cancelled due to the extended ETA (estimate time of arrival).
The female occupant was transported to a Las Vegas trauma hospital by ground ambulance for treatment of major injuries. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner was requested at the scene. The name of the deceased will be released pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
