One Killed and Several Injured in Victorville Crash

VICTORVILLE – One person is deceased and several others were injured after a four-vehicle traffic collision on Wednesday evening.

At around 5:30 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to Palmdale Road near Emerald Road for the report of a traffic collision.When they arrived they located a burgundy Lexus, a white Chevrolet Equinox, a grey Honda Accord, and a black Toyota Celica.

Through investigation, deputies learned that the Lexus was driving east on Palmdale Road and hit the Chevrolet from behind. The Lexus entered the westbound lanes of Palmdale Road and was subsequently broadsided by the Honda, which was traveling west on Palmdale Road. The Honda was then struck by the Celica, which was traveling west on Palmdale Road.

The driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the Lexus and occupants of the Honda were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Victorville Station Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded to the scene of the collision to investigate. Palmdale Road was closed in both directions for several hours between Cantina Drive and Cobalt Road for the investigation and was reopened at around 2:00 a.m.
