APPLE VALLEY – Two Apple Valley men were arrested for attempted murder on Friday after a verbal altercation led to violence. Deputies responded to Tonekai and Pawhuska Roads in the Town of Apple Valley after they received a report of a subject shooting at a vehicle. When deputies arrived they learned that suspect David Ojeda and the victim were involved in an argument. Ojeda allegedly threw a large rock through the victim’s windshield as he was driving.
For unknown reasons, the victim followed Ojeda to an apartment complex in the 20300 block of Pawhuska Road. When he arrived Miguel Lopez, 29, brandished a handgun and fired several times at the victim’s vehicle. Lopez then fled to a nearby apartment complex, where deputies surrounded the apartment complex and the SWAT team responded.
The SWAT team members served a search warrant at the location but learned Lopez fled prior to their arrival. Ojeda was located and arrested for Assault with a deadly weapon. A warrant was issued for Lopez for Attempted Murder.
