CAJON PASS – A man was injured after his Chevrolet Silverado slammed into the back of a tractor trailer late Saturday night.
At around 11:42 p.m. an AMR medic reported a traffic collision on the I-15 north approximately 1 mile south of Oak Hill Road. Authorities reported that the two right lanes of traffic were blocked as a result of the collision.
The 50-year-old man self-extricated from the vehicle and according to AMR medics was suffering from head trauma as a result of the collision. AMR medics requested estimate time of arrival (ETA) of an air ambulance, but later canceled and the injured man was transported by ground ambulance. He was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for the treatment of his injuries.
Several lanes were shut down for nearly an hour while emergency medical personnel transported the vehicle and the collision could be cleared from the two right lanes. A flatbed tow truck with a wench responded to the scene to clear the road. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
