APPLE VALLEY – One suspect was shot and the other remains at large following an armed robbery at an Apple Valley pharmacy on Friday evening. Just before 7:00 p.m. two black men entered Jonathan’s Pharmacy located at 19341 Bear Valley Road. The two went into the location and demanded money from the two employees at the pharmacy.
The pharmacist shot one of the suspects in the leg and arm with a Glock .45 and the other suspect fled the scene in a black vehicle believed to be a Nissan. The suspect who fled was wearing a gray hooded jacket, unknown color pants, and a bandana over his face. He was also carrying a silver-colored revolver a witness said. The injured suspect was transported by an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Once treated and medically cleared the suspect will be booked into jail for armed robbery.
A Sheriff’s helicopter responded to the scene to assist in searching for the second suspect. It is unclear if this robbery was related to the robbery of the Monday, April 3, 2017, robbery at the Allcare Pharmacy located at 12998 Hesperia Road Suite 102 in the City of Victorville. No further information is available at this time, information will be provided as it becomes available.
