PALM SPRINGS – A Palm Springs hotel burglary suspect was caught after returning to the place he burglarized wearing a jacket belonging to the victim officials said.
On Friday, April 20, 2018, around 9:00 p.m. Steven Baker, a former Los Angeles resident who recently moved to Palm Springs gained access to the victim’s downtown Palm Springs hotel room. Baker grabbed clothing and electronics belonging to the victims and left the hotel. The victims reported the burglary to the hotel management, who reported the incident to the police. Police reviewed the surveillance footage and recognized Baker from recent contacts with him.
Two days later, Baker returned to the hotel pretending to be a guest and the hotel staff recognized him. They called the Palm Springs police department. Officers arrived and detained Baker, who was wearing the burglary victim’s jacket. Baker was arrested for Burglary and was booked into the
