PALM SPRINGS – A Palm Springs man was arrested on Wednesday night after an assault led to shots fired. At around 10:50 p.m. Palm Springs Police responded to the 1600 block of Avenida Olancha regarding a dispute.
Officers learned that the suspect and the victim were arguing when Don Ferreira, 58, fired a single shot from a firearm in the area of the victim. The victim ran from the home and called 911.
The suspect remained at the scene and was arrested and booked into the Larry D Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for assault with a deadly weapon. Ferreira is being held in lieu of $25,000.
