PALM SPRINGS – A 19-year-old man has been arrested for killing his mother in their Palm Springs home on Monday authorities said.
At around 4:25 a.m., Palm Springs Police responded to the 4100 block of Calle San Antonio for the report of the 36-year-old female inside of a home who had been shot. When officers arrived they located the woman, later identified as Amber Lane, inside the home suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Lane was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and later died as a result of her injuries.
Three men were detained inside of the home and were all learned to be at the home at the time of the shooting. The Palm Springs Police Department Crimes Against Persons Investigation Unit responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Through investigation, detectives learned that Brian Conroy, Lane’s biological son intentionally shot her inside of the home.
Conroy was arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for murder. The investigation is ongoing and at this time there is no known motive.
