LANCASTER – A man is being charged for the death of his three passengers after a DUI crash on June 19th. Palmdale resident, 37-year-old Eric Deshawn Johnson faces three counts of murder and one count of driving under the influence causing injury.
On June 19th Johnson was driving a Ford Escape when he crashed into a Honda Accord near Avenue D and the Antelope Valley Freeway. The crash killed Arizona residents, 36-year-old Michelle Maxie, and 2-year-old Anaya Clayton as well as Paramount resident, 37-year-old Maisha Garrett. The collision also caused injury to the driver of the Honda Accord.
Johnson is also charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license. His bail is set at $6.18 million and if convicted as charged he will face 45 years to life in prison.
