VICTORVILLE – Caltrans and the City of Victorville will be hosting an information session for businesses located in the work zone of the Slurry Seal Project on Palmdale Road. The meeting will be on June 15th at 6:00 p.m. at the Victorville City Hall at 14343 Civic Drive in Conference Room D. The Public Works Team and Caltrans will be available to answer questions, explain the project and explain the reasons behind the closures.
The Slurry Seal Project will temporarily repair damaged portions of Palmdale Road and stop further deterioration leading up to the $3 million reconstruction project scheduled for next summer.
The project will call for a full road closure on Palmdale Road between El Evado Road and Green Tree Boulevard for a Slurry Seal Project will be done on June 21st from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Caltrans officials said. In addition to the full road closure on June 21st, there will be lane closures on June 22nd-23rd and on-and off-ramps closed at Palmdale road in both directions on the 21st. Off-ramp closures will also be in place on the 22nd and 23rd and Palmdale Road access will be restricted those days.
The full closure on June 21st will allow for completion of the slurry seal in a three-day period reducing the impact to businesses and motorists while increasing safety. Some closures may begin on the stretch of Palmdale Road as early as June 13th from 9am-1pm while preparations are made.
Access will be limited to businesses on the Palmdale Road work zone, no cars will be permitted travel on the work zone on June 21st. Businesses located in the work zone and members of the community interested in information are invited to attend to ask questions and otherwise learn about the project.
