PALMDALE – A Palmdale woman was outraged on Wednesday when she reportedly saw a very familiar vehicle pull up in her neighborhood and the driver get out to toss three cats out of his truck. The incident occurred at around 4:00 p.m. on Old Nadeau Road and Pearblossom Highway.
Ashley Aghillpour said that she often sees the same truck parked in that area and has seen it stopping in the same area for the past few months. “We’ve never caught him and always wondered what he was doing,” said Aghillpour. “We think he’s dumping trash to cover that up cause there’s always tons of trash where he stops also. My mother-in-law has recently found a pit bull puppy hanging out at the exact spot I saw him today. Recently there have also been tons of stray animals around here.”
Aghillpour said that once thrown from his truck, the cats ran into the coyote-ridden hills. She is afraid that the with the number of coyotes in the area that the had very little chance of making it through the night. “It looked like they were maybe in traps in the back of his truck cause he was out of the vehicle and pulling them out of the trunk.”
The detective from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Palmdale station responded to the scene to take the report. Aghillpour had clear images of the license plate number, which was provided to the detective. Anyone with information pertinent to the case, including the identity of the suspect is asked to call Detective A. Borits-Root at 661-272-2609.
