ROSAMOND, Ca. – Authorities are not releasing any information about the age, sex, or race of a deceased person found in a desert area of Rosamond on Saturday.
At around 7:25 a.m. on January 9th, dispatchers received a report of possible human remains located in the area of Frontage and Dawn Roads. When Kern County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene they confirmed the finding was, in fact, partial human remains. The finding was considered suspicious since the remains were found inside a plastic bag.
The finding led to a homicide investigation. Although the remains will be identified by the Coroner’s office at a later time, authorities are confirming the body is not those of two adopted boys who went missing on December 21, 2020.
The adoptive parents of Orson West, 3, and Orrin West, 4, said the boys went missing from their California City backyard. Despite search efforts, the boys have not been located.
Anyone with information pertinent to either case should report what they know to (661) 861-3110.
