Pastor Who Supported Murder Charges for having Abortions, Arrested for Child Rape

HUSTON, TX. – A former Baptist pastor at the Grace Family Baptist Church in Texas and father of seven was arrested for the ongoing sexual abuse of a family member.

Stephen Bratton, 43,  is being accused of inappropriately touching the teen and eventually having sexual intercourse with the teen several times a day, some days. The sexual abuse lasted for a period of two years from 2013-2015, authorities said.

“This activity is wrong according to Biblical and civil law and the church condemns the behavior as abhorrent,” Grace Family Baptist Church officials said in a written statement. “Stephen Bratton was also excommunicated by the church the following Sunday, May 19. Therefore, he is no longer a member of the church.”

Bratton openly supported a bill in Texas that would charge women who had abortions with homicide with the maximum sentence being the death penalty.  Bratton was released on $50,000 bail.
