VICTORVILLE – A male pedestrian died as a result of his injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday evening. At around 7:07 p.m. Victorville station deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the report of the vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Mojave Drive and Ferndale Road.
When they arrived, the involved black Nissan 200 was at the scene with the driver, who was cooperative with the investigation. Through investigation, it was learned that the Nissan was driving east on Mojave Drive near Ferndale Road. The pedestrian, who was not in a crosswalk was crossing Mojave drive and was struck by the Nissan. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The driver was treated and released at the scene.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to investigate the cause of the collision, closing Mojave Drive near Ferndale Road for several hours.
