CHINO, Calif. – A 72-year-old woman lost her life after she was struck by a vehicle in the City of Chino early Saturday morning.
At around 6:44 a.m. officers responded to the 5900 block of Riverside Drive for the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. When officers and emergency medical personnel arrived they found the 2005 Honda Civic and the pedestrian lying on the ground. Emergency medical personnel determined that the woman was deceased.
Through the preliminary investigation, it was learned that the woman was crossing the street when she was struck by the vehicle that was driving eastbound on Riverside Drive. The driver of the Honda, a 33-year-old woman remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No arrests were made as a result of the collision. Further details about the cause of the collision are unavailable at this time. The victim’s name is not being released at this time. Riverside drive was closed around 6 ½ hours for the investigation.
