PERRIS, Ca. – A 29-year-old Perris man is behind bars following the murder of a female and injury of a second female and male.
Sheriff’s officials are not identifying the victims yet, but they have identified the suspect as Anthony Varela. On September 6, 2019, at around 11:22 p.m., deputies responded to the 33 Whirlaway Street in the City of Perris for the report of multiple people being assaulted at the residence.
Deputies arrived at the home to find one female dead on arrival for injuries sustained during the attack. Another female and male were also injured and suffering from traumatic injuries. The injured victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. Homicide investigators responded to the scene to assume the investigation.
Varela was taken into custody and was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for Murder and Attempted Murder.
