SAN BERNARDINO, CA. – A 70-year-old Perris man was killed after being ejected from his Harley Davidson Fatboy motorcycle on Saturday.
At around 10:06 p.m. the California Highway Patrol and emergency medical personnel responded to the southbound 215, north of Devore in response to a traffic collision. When they arrived they found 70-year-old Robert T. Davis lying in the roadway. Mr. Davis was pronounced deceased by emergency medical personnel at the scene.
The investigation revealed that Mr. Davis was riding his motorcycle in the #2 lane of traffic at an unknown speed. As he traveled southbound he collided with another motorcycle, causing him to be ejected into lanes of traffic. The driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling around 65 miles per hour on the 215 freeway southbound in the #1 lane. Without time to react, the vehicle struck Mr. Davis leading to his death.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision. The collision remains under investigation. Anyone with any information about the collision should contact Officer D. Chavez at 909-383-4247.
