PHELAN – A marijuana grow was located in the 500 block of Smoketree Lane in Phelan on Friday.
Officials said that the grow was found as a result of a Sheriff’s Gang/Narcotics Division-Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) search warrant served at the Phelan home. The illegal marijuana grow consisted of over 350 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. All were found outside of the home. Inside the home, there was evidence consistent with the illegal manufacturing of concentrated cannabis at the home. None of the residents were home at the time of the search. When located, the suspect(s) will face charges of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance and Cultivation of Cannabis; over 6 plants.

California’s newest form of marijuana laws, MAUCRSA, went into full effect on January 1st. San Bernardino County has an ordinance prohibiting Commercial Cannabis Activity which includes growing marijuana plants outdoors. San Bernardino County Land Use Services – Code Enforcement personnel will assist in the investigation.
The County of San Bernardino has an ordinance prohibiting Commercial Cannabis Activity which includes growing marijuana outdoors. The Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division will continue to enforce California’s marijuana laws as well as the San Bernardino County ordinance.
Persons found to be violating the state marijuana laws and county ordinance are subject to fines, prosecution, and seizure of property. Property owners who are aware their tenants are growing marijuana on their rental properties in violation of state law and local ordinances may also be subject to civil or criminal sanctions.
