VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A Phelan man was arrested for a fatal hit and run collision that killed a Victorville man.
At around 7:07 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, Victorville deputies responded to the report of a hit and run traffic collision near Bear Valley Road and Stonegate Drive. The reporting party said that the collision involved a motorcycle and a Honda Accord.
“Jenkins did not stop at the scene,” said Victorville Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “According to a witness, he stopped momentarily at the intersection of Bear Valley and Jade before continuing to drive west on Bear Valley Road at a high rate of speed.” Jenkins went north on Monte Vista Road at a high rate of speed. Jenkins lost control leaving the roadway and crashing near Maricopa.
Bladh was flown to a trauma center for treatment of major injuries. On Monday, March 25, 2019, he died as a result of his injuries. Jenkins suffered only minor injuries and refused medical attention. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for driving under the influence causing bodily injury and hit and run causing death or injury. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of further charges.
