SWEET GRASS, MT – Two Canadian juveniles inadvertently crossed the U.S. Canadian border illegally while playing Pokémon GO, officials said.
On Thursday, July 21, 2016, Border Patrol Agents came in contact with the two juveniles who crossed the border walking southbound from Canada into Sweet Grass, Montana. When Border Patrol agents approached the juveniles, they realized the juveniles were engrossed in the game and were unaware of their surroundings.
“Both juveniles were so captivated by their Pokémon GO games that they lost track of where they were. They crossed the international border inadvertently, but agents were able to reunite them with their mother,” stated Public Affairs Officer Michael Rappold.
The two juveniles were reunited with their mother at the Border Patrol Station.
