RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Ca. – A 50-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man was arrested for beating his 16-year-old nephew with a pole, authorities said.
On Thursday, July 22, 2021, at around 10:00 p.m., deputies responded to the 8400 block of Bullhead Court in the City of Rancho Cucamonga for the report of an assault. The reporting party said that his 16-year-old neighbor came to his home injured and asking for help. The teen reportedly had visible injuries and said that his uncle assaulted him.
Deputies responded to the teen’s home and made contact with his uncle, Casar Marquez. Marquez said that the two of them were involved in a verbal altercation because he thought the teen had been taking his car without his permission. During the confrontation, Marquez grabbed a pole and began physically assaulting him. The teen was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Marquez was booked at the West Valley Detention Center where he remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail.
