RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A 38-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man was arrested after making a bomb threat at the Rancho Cucamonga Living Spaces Store on Monday evening.
At around 5:25 p.m. the Living Spaces employees called 911 to report that a male suspect walking into the business, placed a bag on their information desk, and told them that there was a bomb in the bag. The suspect, later identified as Torrell Crossley left the store and walked toward the Walmart, also in the 12600 block of Foothill Boulevard.
As a precaution, the business was evacuated and deputies arrived to assist in the evacuation of that and the businesses surrounding. The bag was carefully inspected by a Sergeant and Deputy who determined that there was only clothing and a Walkman inside. There was no bomb or other dangerous material inside of the bag. The Walmart Store Loss Prevention was contacted and located Crossley inside of the business removing merchandise from its original packaging.
Crossley was detained and after further investigation, he was arrested for both the bomb threat and for shoplifting. He was transported to the West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $25,000.
