REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A family of three were terrified after a man approached them swinging a machete at them in their apartment complex.
The couple and their 7-year-old daughter were walking in the complex on Monday, April 15, 2019, at around 6:45 p.m. when San Mateo County Sheriff’s officials said 40-year-old Marco Ayapanjocop, a San Mateo man approached them. He began swinging the machete toward the family, leaving all of the victims in fear for their lives. The adult male victim grabbed the machete and was able to gain possession of it without anyone being seriously injured.
Ayapanjocop fled the scene but was located a short time later.
