HESPERIA – A 46-year-old Hesperia man is behind bars after a Tuesday afternoon dispute authorities said. At around 2:30 p.m. deputies from the Hesperia station responded to the 6000 block of Summit Valley Road in Hesperia to the report of a quickly escalating dispute.
The male reporting party, an armed retired police officer reported that his brother was harassing family and was under the influence of narcotics. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the suspect, later identified as Allen Vian had gone to his mother’s home to retrieve some belongings when a verbal altercation between Vian and his brother, the retired police officer ensued.
The altercation became physical when Vian, according to authorities attempted to assault the victim with a brick. The victim defended himself by discharging his weapon, injuring Vian. Vian fled the scene in a green Dodge Stratus but was later located near the Hesperia Airport.
Vian was treated at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the “midsection” of his body. Vian was subsequently arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on the afternoon of Thursday, June 9th.
