HIGHLAND, Calif. – The Rialto teen killed at a Highland house party on Friday has been identified Monday morning.
Jacob Vargas, 16, was one of the three struck by shots fired at the party in the 7500 block of Weaver Street on Friday, March 15, 2019, at around 11:19 p.m. Detectives are attempting to identify and locate the suspects responsible for Jacob’s death, the injury of a 16-year-old Rialto girl, and the injury of a 22-year-old San Bernardino man.
Detectives learned that the party was advertised on social media and had over 200 people in attendance. Several became involved in a verbal altercation leading to the shots being fired. Jacob was rushed to the hospital but died as a result of his injuries, the female teen was treated for a graze wound, and the 22-year-old man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No suspect description has been released. Detectives are asking for assistance in identifying the suspect(s) involved in this shooting.
