RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The body of Riverside woman was located earlier this month in Pueblo Nuevo, Mexico, and her husband has since been arrested for murder.
On February 5, 2019, at around 3:00 p.m., investigators from the Jurupa Valley Station were contacted regarding the body of a female adult located in Mexico. Working with Calexico Police, investigators learned that the victim may have been kidnapped from the Jurupa Valley area and was reported kidnapped by her husband. The victim was identified as Rosa Isella Beltran Lopez.
Through further investigation, it was determined that Rosa’s husband Juan Carlos Lopez Alvarado, 44, murdered her, wrapped her body in a blanket, and dumped her body. Juan Carlos Lopez Alvarado was arrested for murder on February 18, 2019.
There are no outstanding suspects and no threat to public safety. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call Investigator Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station at (951) 955-2600.
