RIVERSIDE – A 60-year-old auto theft suspect was arrested nearly two months after the theft of a truck at the AM/PM market located at 4901 La Sierra Avenue.
The theft took place on June 25, 2016, and although the truck was recovered the same day, the victim’s tools used for work were no longer in the truck.
Riverside city police were able to view the surveillance footage from the store. Days after the theft the victim reported seeing the suspect, later identified as Riverside resident, Kurt Patrick Miller. The victim wrote down the license plate of the vehicle Miller was in and reported it to the police.
Through the information provided by the victim, detectives were able to locate the home of the suspect. Although the detective on the case went to the home of the Miller on several occasions he was unable to make contact with him. He continued following up on the case, conducting surveillance of the home.
On the morning of Tuesday, August 23rd he finally saw the suspect in the 11100 block of Mountain Avenue. Miller, who is also the suspect for an unrelated warrant was arrested and booked into jail for the theft of the vehicle.
