COLTON, Calif. – The Colton Police Department, with the assistance of the Rite Aid Foundation’s Safe Medication Disposal Program, announced the placement of a prescription drug drop box in the lobby.
This box will be available during business hours for easy access to anyone who would like to safely dispose of their prescription and over the counter medications that they no longer need or that have expired. Proper disposal of unneeded medication is necessary to prevent medication misuse and accidental poisoning among children and adolescents.
The Rite Aid Foundation’s KidCents Program, the Safe Medication Disposal Program, provides law enforcement agencies in communities with free medication disposal units for safe disposal of medications, both prescription and over the counter, for citizens.
