SAN BERNARDINO – The San Bernardino County Assessor’s office has been informed and is alerting the public of suspicious activity in the City of San Bernardino and Highland.
Numerous complaints were received from the public to local authorities indicating that people have been going door-to-door knocking claiming to be “Assessor Representatives”. These people have, according to the reporting parties have not had proper identification to provide. Local law enforcement and the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office have been notified.
The County Assessor’s officials said that staff will always produce identification and the public is advised that Assessor Staff are in the field only for assessment purposes.
