PALM DESERT, Ca. – A Yucaipa woman and San Bernardino man were arrested for their involvement in an armed robbery in the City of Palm Desert on Wednesday.
At around 12:34 p.m. deputies from the Palm Desert Station responded to a report of a robbery at Pawnshield Fine Jewelry and Loan, located in the 74-800 block of Technology Drive in Palm Desert. The store clerk told dispatchers that a female suspect entered the store and pepper sprayed the clerk before leaving with jewelry.
As deputies arrived, the saw a vehicle fleeing the scene and made a traffic stop. Both subjects, later identified as Jennifer Andrews, 36, of Yucaipa, and Richard Gonzales, 28, of San Bernardino, were detained. Both suspects were positively identified by the victim. The suspect vehicle was impounded and searched. Inside the vehicle they located the pepper spray used in the robbery and the jewelry stolen during the theft.
Both Andrews and Gonzales were booked into the Indio Jail for Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
