San Bernardino Man Arrested for Continuous Sexual Abuse of Two Children

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – A 44-year-old San Bernardino man was arrested for the ongoing sexual abuse of two children.

Deputies from the Central Station investigated the claims of sexual abuse against a 7 and 10-year-old on Friday, June 7, 2019. Throughout the investigation, detectives did interviews and gathered evidence that showed that Marvin Jesus Matute sexually abused the two children over several months. Matute was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2019,, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office filed formal criminal charges against Matute. He was charged with lewd and lascivious acts with children, continuous sexual abuse of a child, oral copulation with a child, and penetration with a foreign object.

Authorities believe that there may be other victims who have not yet been identified.
