SAN BERNARDINO, Ca. – A man was struck and killed as he was running across the 1-215 freeway on Wednesday.
At around 5:38 a.m. the CHP responded to the report of a traffic collision just south of Little League Drive. When they arrived they learned that Robert Farrell, 59, of Eugene, OR. was driving a 2016 White Freightliner on the I-215 north in the #2 lane. As he drove he struck a 29-year-old San Bernardino man who had was running across the lanes of traffic. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP officials said that it is unclear why the pedestrian was running in the roadway. The name of the pedestrian is not being released at this time. This collision is still under investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact
